Kenny Swann VIEW PROFILE

Kenneth Lee Swann, 63, formerly of Knox City, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Missouri.

    Kenny was born on December 27, 1951, in Novelty, Missouri, the son of Charley Howard and Inez Lee Swann.

    He graduated from the Novelty Elementary School in 1965 and the Knox County High School in the Class of 1969.

    Kenny worked as a mechanic for Cahalan Ford and later Gillaspy and Kincaid John-Deere both of Edina, Missouri. He also farmed for several farmers in the area. As a hobby, he rebuilt and repaired cars and motorcycles, mostly for his kids and enjoyed going out to eat, on weekends and see a movie.

    On August 7, 1971, in Kirksville, Missouri, Kenny married Debbie Withrow and to this union two children were born.

    He is survived by a son, Brian Swann and his fiancé Kristin Fennell of Quincy, Illinois; a daughter, Jackie Swann and friend Anthony Hettinger of Edina, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jocelyn Swann, Jullian Hurst and Isaac Hettinger; a brother, Dr. James “Jim” and his wife Gudrun Swann of Springfield, Missouri; three sisters, Evelyn Doss of Edina, Missouri, Karen and her husband Vic Miller of Knox City, Missouri and Pat Swann of Dallas, Texas; sisters-in-law, Suzanne “Sue” Swann of Quincy, Illinois, Deanna Swann of Edwardsville, Illinois and Patricia Swann of Gerald, Missouri; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends.

    Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Inez Swann; five brothers, Richard “Dick” Swann, Dale Swann, Jerry Lee Swann, Tom Swann, and Don Lynn Swann; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Doss.

    Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.

    Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Burial will be in the Novelty Cemetery in Novelty, Missouri.

    An expression of sympathy in memory of Kenny Swann may be left to the Novelty Cemetery Association. A memorial may be left at or mailed to the Doss Funeral Home 208 N. 4th Street, Edina, Missouri 63537.
