    Shirlene Kay Chancellor, 63, of Rutledge, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 3, 2015 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri.
    Shirlene was born on August 12, 1951 at the Gibson Hospital in Edina, Missouri, the daughter of Manly “Junior” and Betty Jo Barnes Golden.
    She attended school in Colony, Missouri before graduating from the Knox County High School in the Class of 1969. She received a degree in accounting from the Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois.
    On December 19, 1970, in Colony, Missouri, Shirlene married Paul “Ray” Chancellor.  
    After their marriage they lived in Bloomfield, Iowa, Hurdland, Missouri, and Memphis, Missouri before returning to the Rutledge, Missouri community.
    Shirlene had worked, as a bookkeeper, for Wright Tire and Appliance, Harris Motors, and Maritz Research.
    She was very active in community events from the Rutledge Fall Festival to the Bible Grove Historical and School Preservation. Shirlene enjoyed playing the lottery, scratchers, slots, bingo and monopoly. Her favorite pastime was her grandkids.
    She is survived by her husband, Ray Chancellor of Rutledge, Missouri; a son John and his wife Megan Chancellor of Downing, Missouri; a daughter, Sue and her husband Ryan Anderson of Memphis, Missouri; a sister, Sheila and her husband Ronnie Truitt of Kirksville, Missouri; a brother, Steve and his wife Patsy Golden of Edina, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kendal and Brayden Anderson and Payton Adele Chancellor; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
     She was preceded in death by her father, Junior Golden in 1988; her mother, Betty Jo Golden in 2010 and a son, Jeffrey Chancellor in 1977.
    A private family graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2015, in the Greensburg Cemetery in Greensburg, Missouri.
    Doss Funeral Home of Edina, Missouri were in charge of arrangements.
    An expression of sympathy in memory of Shirlene Chancellor may be left to the Memphis Library or the Rutledge Fall Festival. A memorial may be left at or mailed to the Doss Funeral Home 208 N. 4th Street, Edina, Missouri 63537.
